Focis Consultants have worked with a broad range of clients from the private, public, crown and healthcare sectors across Canada. The following are samples of our successes.
Our team was recruited by the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of one the largest and most progressive governments in Canada. Specifically, we were asked to clarify the vision, establish senior-executive consensus, and develop the business model for a new information system that will eventually connect hundreds of government, healthcare, social-development, education and justice agencies. Our work on this project drew particular praise from the CIO himself and positioned this jurisdiction to vastly improve the service performance of a huge number of public-sector agencies.
Our team was engaged by the CEO of a B.C. health authority to work with the CEO’s of the six health authorities to create the vision and strategic design for a province wide shared services organization. The B.C. Health Authority Shared Services initiative will be the first multi-functional health sector model in Canada, initially providing information technology, supply chain and HR/Payroll services to the six health authorities across the province. Through multiple presentations, workshops and providing expert advice we helped define the strategic context of the new health authority initiative that will significantly improve the performance of the healthcare sector through increased efficiency and pooled expertise and capability.
Our team was engaged by the CEO of a crown corporation in central Canada to work with the leadership team to define the organization’s strategic direction. There was a clear need to clarify customer needs and to ensure the organization was delivering services that were achieving outcomes responsive to these needs. Through one-on-one meetings, leadership team and Board workshops and providing expert advice we assisted the organization to clearly define and confirm its future role and direction — positioning the Corporation for optimal growth and and improved performance.
Our team was recruited by the Director of Technology Solutions of an information services organization to review its two IT outsourcing deals. The project involved a review of service provider performance against the contract, contract management effectiveness and the service provider/client relationship. It also included defining the optimal strategic contracting option going forward. Our recommendations resulted in substantial improvement to service provider performance and increased the satisfaction of all parties.
